The primary responsibilities of this position involve work with web applications including the development and adoption of new technology solutions initiatives. These responsibilities include applications on the MyDaemen portal and new portal development.  This position will require close communication and coordination with the Director of Web Development and Director of Web Communications.


The secondary responsibilities of this position involve assisting, as needed, with user support requests and supporting other team members within the Office of Information Technology.Position is exempt, full time, thirty-five hours per week.  Additional hours may be required during peak periods.

Position Responsibilities


  • Using PHP, MySQL, HTML5, JQuery, Javascript, and CSS3 to create and maintain web systems on the MyDaemen web server.
  • Organize the rollout and promote the adoption of new technical solution initiatives created or endorsed by Information Technology.
  • Answer calls, chats, emails and texts from users from all over the College with questions, problems, suggestions, and ideas related to web development.  
  • Be able to create and edit content inside content management systems such as Google Sites, Drupal and Wordpress.
  • Regularly research and explore web related technologies.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Office of Information Technology website content and organization.
  • Utilize linux commands and linux based OS.
  • Familiarity with Adobe's Photoshop and Illustrator preferred.
  • Provide professional technical training workshops periodically.
  • Assisting Directors of IT and other office employees with duties and projects as necessary for the efficient operation of the office and the college.



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Services or a similar degree preferred.  
  • General Programming Skills; General understanding of relational databases; Ability to analyze information, problem solve, debug, document and test code.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • May require evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed or stored on the servers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
